James Collector’s 2023 EP, "The Farther The Arrow," releases five tracks aimed at the moving targets of dance music and melodic house. Welcoming Song was inspired by the fire circle at Standing Rock where Native activists sang through a blizzard. Joy was born in a rundown hostel on the coast of Peru. Vows arrived in the afterglow of his wedding beneath redwoods. The prairie horizon visible from the roof of his childhood home in Colorado evoked the chords for Utopia. Yukon originated while van camping on the long drive from San Francisco to Alaska. No matter if the arc of a song takes a decade or 10,000 miles, because the more the bow bends and stretches...
